Labradorite, the mystical stone

 

This is one of my favorite stones.  It was one of the first stone I used in jewelry making and it still is one of the stones that I always have to pick up when I’m shopping for beads and stones.

 

The stone is grayish to black and when light hits it, it has blue, green and yellow through out, which gives it an iridescent look.    They also come is a yellow transparent as well.  Both varieties can be found in Italy, Greenland,Finland,Russia,Canada and Scandinavia.

 Labradorite stone is a protective stone and a bringer of light.  It helps to raise consciousness and connect with universal energies.  Labradorite can calm an over active mind and re-energizes the imagination.  It strengthens faith in self and the universe.  The Yellow labradorite accesses the highest levels of consciousness, visulalization, trance, clairvoyance and channeling.  It should be placed on the third eye, solar plexus or held.  Grayish black/blue labradorite should be worn over the higher heart chakra, or held.

This is one of the stone that I like to hold when I meditate.  It helps to clear my mind and open me up to the universe.  It is also one of the stones I sleep with inside my pillow case to help with clearing the mind and allowing for restful sleep.
